Particular attention will be given to how the three regions structure regulatory agencies in insurance and financial services, consumer protection and solvency regulation, reinsurance, insurance intermediaries (brokers and agents), and antitrust law. The course will also consider the effectiveness of insurance regulation on a state/provincial, national and regional level at a time when insurance and other financial products are increasingly sold, insured and reinsured in a global environment. Course participants will include 8-10 students each from the School of Law and the University of International Business and Economics in Beijing. All instruction will be in English.
